Privacy Policy

Bindery · Last updated 15 September 2026

Bindery does not collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server of ours that your reading is stored on. Your library lives on your device.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter or track. That includes:

None of this is transmitted anywhere. It is held in a local database on your iPhone and is removed when you delete the app. We cannot see it, recover it, or restore it for you — which is why the app writes backups you control and can export your whole library to CSV at any time.

When Bindery uses the network

Only to look up books. When you search for a title, scan a barcode, or browse recommendations, Bindery sends that search term or ISBN to public book catalogues:

These requests carry no account identifier, because there is no account. They are not linked to you or to your library, and nothing about what you have read is sent with them. Each service handles requests under its own privacy policy, linked above.

If you never search for a book, Bindery makes no network requests at all.

Purchases

Bindery Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, and we receive no personal information from the transaction. Whether Pro is unlocked is recorded on your device; restoring a purchase asks Apple, not us.

Notifications

If you turn on a daily reading reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device by iOS. No reminder is sent from a server, and no notification content leaves your phone.

What we do not do

Children

Bindery is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. Any change that affected what the app collects would be described plainly here, not buried.
